Despite our sin, the Heavenly Father still longs for us as for lost sons and daughters. That’s why He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross to redeem us. He who knew no sin became sin for us so that we might become sons and daughters of God. The Father wants us back! So, what’s the way home to the Father’s embrace? He desires to make a covenant with us through the shed blood of Jesus. By repentance and faith in His perfect Son, we embrace that covenant. We are then no longer lost; we are found. We are no longer dead in sin; we are alive in Christ!

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! 10 For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! 11 Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God.
And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.
