If you would like to return home to the embrace of the Heavenly Father, you can respond to Him with a prayer like this:
Heavenly Father, I get your heart for me as that of a father for his son/daughter. I know that my masculine sin (relational abdication through avoidance)/feminine sin (manipulation through control) has separated me from relationship with You. I long not only to be redeemed but also to be reconciled to You. I desire to repent of my masculine/feminine rebellion, independence, and foolishness. I no longer want to try to “save” my life on my own terms in the way that seems right to me. I turn from my masculine/feminine self-protection, self-preservation, and self-promotion, and to You, Father. I embrace Jesus, the Perfect Son, as my Savior and Lord. By faith, I receive the Spirit of Adoption (sonhood/daugherhood). Thank You for the gift of forgiveness and eternal life. I ask you, Father, to continually restore the image of God in me as a male/female image-bearer by the power of Your Spirit. Have your way with me. I yield myself to You, Father. Release me to represent, reflect, and reveal You to other lost sons and daughters. I desire to love others into Your saving embrace. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
